Do you ever just have days when you feel ultra non-feminine? I know I do.. Sometimes as a lady I get too caught up in the helter skelter of every day life and forget the importance of taking a few moments to myself. Women as a whole tend to get wrapped up in the lives of the people close to them and we neglect ourselves on a daily basis. Remember this ladies; if you don’t take care of you, how can you possibly expect to help maintain the lives of our children, parents, and significant others?? Women are generally so giving of themselves that we continue to give and give and give and we never do for us. Maybe because we feel we don’t have time. Maybe because we are on a budget and simply feel that we can’t afford to indulge ourselves. Well I am here to help! 😉. With a few quick, inexpensive, and wonderful ways to unwind and indulge…
1) take a shower!
I don’t know about you, but I always feel more relaxed after a hot shower! The hot water relaxes your muscles and helps you to “decompress” as my boyfriend says.
2) shave your legssss .
The ultimate feeling of femininity comes with satiny smooth legs. Exfoliate beforehand with Epsom salt, sugar scrub, or a homemade coffee scrub. This will exfoliate away the dead skin that can clog hair follicles and cause those nasty and sometimes painful ingrown hairs. NEVER EXFOLIATE AFTER YOU SHAVE!! I cannot stress this enough! Then apply cream or gel and shave as normal. Afterwards, pat your legs dry with a soft towel. Try not to rub, as this will irritate your skin. Then, apply a cocoa butter lotion or as I often do, coconut oil! Apply a liberal amount and massage gently until most of the moisture is absorbed into the skin. Put your slouchy pants on over the lotion or oil and go to sleep! Like wearing socks after applying lotion to your feet, when you wake up and get dressed for the day, you will be amazed at how sexy and satiny your legs will feel!
3) soak in an Epsom salt bath.
I highly recommend this! Epsom salt is seriously affordable (I use Dr. Teal’s lavender scented salt bath for relaxation and it is around 7$ at CVS. I usually get four or five baths out of one bag.). Light a candle, fill a hot bath, and Pinterest or YouTube in the tub for about 20 minutes. The scent is relaxing and you feel the toxins sucked away from your body!
4) Facials are the bomb!
I am such a Pinterest addict. But I have found some amazing recipes for facials on that site! Facials are so calming and the ingredients are often inexpensive. Be careful if you have sensitive skin ! Patch test any facial before actually applying to the face! If it begins burning or itching, remove it immediately!
5) try something new
Read a good book, or watch a new show on Netflix! Listen to pandora and pick a station you may not think you’ll like! Surprise yourself! Life is a constant journey of self discovery, and finding something out about yourself, your likes and dislikes, your tastes and preferences, may be just what the doctor ordered.
These are five ways that you can indulge yourself wether you are on a budget, or just pinched for time! Life is a constant flow of new information and new tasks to be handled. But amid the chaos, just remember yourself and how much you mean to those around you. They love you! And you should remember to love you too 🙂
